There are dozens of good places to get great shots, but they rarely turn out this amazing. I think the framing of flowers in the foreground and mountains in the back are part of what makes this such a great shot. The vivid colours and ominous clouds are the icing on the cake!
Though there are a good many rainy days on the Isle of Skye, you’ll seldom clouds such as these. If you have any lovely photos that you would like to share, be sure to use our contact form and give us a shout…
This beautiful sunset was captured by by Mac ind Og and posted on his Flickr channel.

In my humble opinion, being a longtime resident of the Isle of Skye, this image has been stretched upwards to make it more dramatic. I have dug out a recent image of my own taken from a similar vantage point and Ben Tianavaig is less tall and sharp.
Richard, you may be right on this one. The colours have obviously been enhanced for dramatic effect, so the aspect ratio could have been altered a bit by the original poster, Mac ind Og. Please feel free to email us any photos you would like to share, and we’ll be glad to put them up on Isle of Skye Hotels website, crediting you of course for your work. info AT isleofskyehotels.info
